Meet Rev. Amy Strader!
Rev. Amy grew up in the Kansas City area and holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Life and Community Services from Kansas State University (that’s the Wildcats, not the Jayhawks, for any sports fans out there). In 2010, she received her Masters of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO. She has a passion for relevant, honest ministry and is looking forward to connecting with the people of Bozeman, MT.
Pastor Amy is married to Rev. Eric Strader, also a pastor of Bozeman UMC, and has a daughter, Nora, and a son, Finn.
Before moving to Bozeman, Pastor Amy served the people of Golden and Lakewood, Colorado, and before moving to Colorado was worked in Youth Ministry in Kansas for 6 years.
When not at church she enjoys taking the kids on adventures (of which there is no shortage of in Montana), binge-watching Netflicks, and trying new things (speaking of new things, who wants to take Pastor Amy fly fishing?). Rev. Amy likes to eat good food, which is good as Pastor Eric likes to cook good food.
It was love at first sight for Rev. Amy and Bozeman. Seeing that the airport looked like a ski lodge, she said, “I think I’m going to like it here.”
Meet Rev. Eric Strader!
I am….a spouse and partner to Amy. We’ve been married since 2004 and the road has been one of moving towards more forgiveness, love, connection, and always working on being healthy with our emotions and relationship. I believe healthy couples with healthy patterns make for healthy families.
I am…a parent to a funny, witty, strong, vulnerable, emotionally-intelligent four-year-old daughter, Nora. And a quiet, funny, inquisitive boy, Thurman (we call him Finn. My household also includes a 75-pound lab that likes to cuddle, Delilah, and a chihuahua who thinks your lap is her bed, Francis.
I am…a pastor. I am called to walk, sit, weep, laugh, love, lead, challenge, teach the people I am appointed to serve. I am also called to be led, challenged, vulnerable, loved by the people I am appointed to serve. I am part of the pastoral team at Bozeman United Methodist Church.
I am….a Star Wars fan, an avid reader, a sometimes runner, always happy in the water swimmer, a coffee fanatic, a native of Kansas, and now a resident of Bozeman!
