We will have a charge conference on Wednesday, March 23rd, at 6:30 pm.

The leadership board will vote to approve two additions to leadership, these folks were not recruiting yet at our meeting in January. A charge conference is where the leadership and the retired clergy approve the items for consent. All members have a voice and are invited to attend the hybrid meeting to share thoughts. We are again utilizing the charge conference functionality for a mid-year leadership addition. Next year, the annual meeting will be a full church conference.

These individuals have been approved by the nominations team:
The nominations team presents Mark Kozubal to join the finance team. Mark Kozubal is the chief scientific officer with Nature’s Fynd and brings experience in finances strategic collaboration.
Nominations also presents Zak Wangler to join the Christus Collegium Board. Zak is a caseworker with Family Promise and is currently in graduate school at MSU. He has been part of campus ministry for the past several years.

Our annual charge conference was held January 31st.

This was a charge conference, which is slightly different from a church conference. The Book of Discipline gives the pastors and leadership various avenues for decision-making processes. A church conference is where all members have a voice and vote. In a charge conference, the members have a voice but no vote, and voting are limited to the elected leadership and any retired clergy. We chose this model to expedite voting as this meeting has been delayed by covid and impacts various administrative processes. Please note, all items presented at the vote have been reviewed by another team and not simply presented.

If you have any questions about this process please speak with Rev. Eric
