Ministry Within Our Church
There are many opportunities, all described below, to minister within
Bozeman United Methodist Church. Click one of these links or scroll down to
view them.
-
Help needed.
Just one hour a week to maintain our red registry books for each Sunday.
Volunteering on Thursday or Friday would be best. Call Chris at 586.5413.
-
9:45 worship
attendees: Could you help with Fellowship Time by fixing coffee, hot
water, and juice at 9:00 a.m.? No clean up needed. This would be a very
helpful ministry to our whole church. Call Kerry at 586.5413.
-
Sunday school
teachers needed: Each age group has a four-person team, for an average
commitment of two days a month. Teacher training will be held Saturday,
September 8, from 10:00 a.m. until noon in the sanctuary, with class team
planning from 11:00 until noon.
-
Sunday morning worship services: It may look
effortless, but worship services don't just happen without valuable
volunteers.
-
Nurture Care Team: These compassionate
volunteers minister to our congregation in so many ways.
-
And much more: There are many additional
opportunities to help, whether it's one-time only or an on-going commitment.
Worship
Team
To help with worship services, contact Chris Robison-Cox at 586.5413,
extension 108.

Altar Flowers |
Altar flowers
grace our sanctuary every Sunday of the year. You may sign up to bring
flowers or have them ordered by calling Chris. Garden bouquets are always
welcome. |
|
Communion Servers |
In the United
Methodist Church, communion is open to all regardless of age or church
membership. We serve bread or rice wafers and grape juice. Serving communion
to others is a meaningful experience. Adults and young people who have
completed confirmation class are welcome to join us in serving. |
|
Lay Readers |
Adults and youth
can participate in worship on Sunday mornings by reading the scripture and a
Psalm at one of the worship services. |
|
Liturgical Design |
The Liturgical
Design Team is a group of women and men who use their artistic gifts to
create a welcoming, comfortable, and beautiful church environment for each
liturgical season. |
|
Ushers |
Ushers play a
vital role on Sunday morning. They help newcomers feel comfortable and
welcomed, and they also help with collecting the offertory and occasionally
serving communion. Your help is wanted for this important ministry. |
Nurture Care Team
To become part of the Nurture Care Team, contact Roxie Curtis at
586.5413, extension 103.
|
Agape Team |
Our dedicated
Agape Team provides services to families during a funeral, with food, help,
nurturing, and serving the reception. |
|
Bread Ministry |
The Bread
Ministry Team bakes fresh bread and delivers it to newcomers who attend
church on Sunday mornings. |
|
Coffee Hour Team |
This dedicated
team of individuals makes sure there are hot and cold drinks and some snacks
for fellowship time between services on Sunday morning. |
|
Outreach Meal Team |
Every couple of
months, this team gets together and makes casseroles and soups for our
church families in need. |
|
Shepherds |
Shepherds take
care of our church family. If someone is ill, they make arrangements for
whatever would be helpful: meals, running errands, child care, and other
help. Shepherds try to keep our large church family well loved and cared
for. |
|
Prayer Chain |
Anyone can call
with a prayer request, and anyone who is willing to pray for others and our
community is welcome to become a part of a prayer chain. We currently have
three very active chains going.
|
|
Visitation |
The visitation
group is an exciting new group. Some people are “buddying up” with a person
in a nursing home, and others are going out and visiting shut-ins, folks in
the hospital, and newcomers to our church. |
Other
To participate in any of these additional, necessary ministries within the church,
please call the office at 586.5413.
|
WOW Team |
Wesley's Outreach Wednesdays. The WOW Team is our youngest mission team,
working to make a difference in our church, community, and world. For
kindergarteners through 5th-graders, the WOW Team meets on Wednesdays from
3:45 to 5:00 in the Tower Room. After ringing the bell and a snack, the
children "do some good," such as baking cookies, helping the food bank,
making cards, or other activities. |
|
Communication Team |
This very helpful
group meets monthly to prepare The Chimes, our church newsletter, for
mailing.
|
|
Infant / Toddler Card Ministry |
The
Infant/Toddler Ministry Team sends out helpful hints and parenting ideas to
new moms and dads with children under age 3. This group meets the first
Monday of the month in the Library.
|
|
Library Team |
The Library team
is composed of a dedicated group of people who do various tasks to help keep
the library running smoothly.
|
|
Memorial Team |
This group cares
for the memorial gifts the church receives.
|
|
Stitchers |
This group has
already created an awesome legacy for our church: They finished 14
kneeling
cushions (10 volunteer stitchers, nearly 5 years, and 9,000 hours to
accomplish) for communion use in our Sanctuary. Now, they are on to
smaller projects like confirmation and new member bookmarkers. The Stitchers meet every Thursday evening from 7:00
to 9:00 p.m. in the Library.
|
|
Youth Group Meal Providers |
Many people
volunteer to prepare and serve food to our youth at their Wednesday night
meetings. The youth really appreciate the time they get to talk and share
with one another over a meal. If you can help us out once this year, please
sign up. |
|
Kitchen Cleaning Crew |
This exciting mission opportunity is a wonderful way to make a clean
difference in our church. Remember, it's always more fun to clean someone
else's kitchen! |
